Anne O'Keefe, a sickly young librarian in wine country, dreams of a glamorous life. When she gets a heart transplant, her dreams come true in the form of erotic visions. Obsessed with new found passion, Anne learns that the heart now beating in her chest belonged to Suzanne Hawks, a beautiful socialite who was brutally murdered. Anne breaks off her engagement to the small town deputy sheriff and takes over the dead woman's life. But when Anne falls in love with the widower, she unwittingly becomes the next target for murder... Directed by Judith Vogelsang. Starring Madchen Amick, Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), and Pamela Bellwood (Dynasty). Revenue from "Heartless" financed a slate of six feature films for Santa Monica Pictures.
